The White Stripes - De Stijl (180g Vinyl LP)

De Stijl is the second studio album from The White Stripes, originally released in 2000. Recorded by Jack and Meg White in the stripped-back surroundings of Jack White's home studio in Detroit, the album develops the duo's raw combination of garage rock, blues and early rock 'n' roll while retaining the deliberately minimal approach that defined their early work.

The 13-track album includes You're Pretty Good Looking (For A Girl), Hello Operator, Apple Blossom and Truth Doesn't Make A Noise. The band's blues influences are particularly prominent on their versions of Son House's Death Letter and Blind Willie McTell's Your Southern Can Is Mine, sitting alongside Jack White originals including Little Bird, Let's Build A Home and Why Can't You Be Nicer To Me?.

Named after the influential Dutch De Stijl art movement, the album's title reflects the minimalist aesthetic that influenced both The White Stripes' music and visual identity. Recorded on 8-track analogue tape, De Stijl captures Jack White's guitar and vocals and Meg White's direct, powerful drumming with the rawness that became central to the band's early sound.

This 2022 vinyl reissue is pressed on 180g black vinyl at Third Man Pressing and comes housed in a premium Stoughton tip-on sleeve. It presents the complete original 13-track album across a single LP.
