Vampire Weekend – Contra (180g Vinyl LP)

Released in 2010, Contra is the second studio album from Vampire Weekend and the record that expanded the New York band's distinctive indie-pop sound into something even more adventurous. Building on their acclaimed debut, the album blends bright guitar pop with electronic textures, global rhythms, orchestral flourishes and inventive production.

Featuring standout tracks including "Horchata", "Cousins", "Giving Up The Gun" and "White Sky", Contra balances instantly memorable melodies with an eclectic mix of instrumentation and influences. Songs such as "California English", "Diplomat's Son" and "I Think Ur A Contra" showcase the band's willingness to experiment while retaining the energetic sound that made their debut so distinctive.

Produced primarily by band member Rostam Batmanglij, the album was largely recorded in New York with additional recording in Mexico. Contra debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 and earned Vampire Weekend a Grammy Award nomination for Best Alternative Music Album.

This 180g Vinyl LP edition presents the complete 10-track album across two sides of heavyweight black vinyl, offering an excellent pressing of one of the standout indie albums of the early 2010s.

Supplied brand new and sealed, it's an essential addition for Vampire Weekend fans and collectors of modern indie rock and pop on vinyl.
