Dirty Dancing (Original Soundtrack Vinyl LP)

Dirty Dancing is the unforgettable soundtrack to the beloved 1987 romantic drama starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey. Featuring (I've Had) The Time of My Life, Hungry Eyes, She's Like the Wind and Be My Baby, this collection blends 1960s rock 'n' roll and soul with memorable 1980s pop.

Set in 1963, the film follows Baby Houseman and dance instructor Johnny Castle. The soundtrack moves between lively dance-floor favourites and heartfelt romance.

Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes open the album with (I've Had) The Time of My Life, the soaring duet that accompanies the film's famous final dance and won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. The Ronettes' Be My Baby supplies a classic girl-group sound, while Patrick Swayze's She's Like the Wind and Eric Carmen's Hungry Eyes capture its romantic atmosphere.

Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs bring doo-wop charm to Stay, and Merry Clayton adds soulful energy with Yes. Side B moves from The Blow Monkeys' You Don't Own Me and Bruce Channel's Hey Baby to Zappacosta's driving Overload. Mickey & Sylvia's Love Is Strange recalls another memorable scene, before Tom Johnston and The Five Satins complete the nostalgic journey.

The soundtrack spent 18 weeks at number one on the US Billboard 200, becoming one of the best-selling film soundtracks ever. Its songs remain inseparable from the movie.

This black vinyl LP reissue presents the original twelve-track soundtrack across two sides, with the familiar film artwork. An ideal addition to a soundtrack collection or a gift for fans of this much-loved movie.
