Yungblud – Idols II (Limited Edition Clear Vinyl LP)

Idols II is the second instalment of the ambitious Idols project from British singer-songwriter and alternative rock artist Yungblud, released on 15 May 2026. Following the success of his fourth studio album Idols in June 2025, this seven-track companion release expands the project's musical and emotional journey with six new recordings and a powerful reimagining of Zombie featuring legendary alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins.

Born Dominic Harrison in Doncaster, England, Yungblud has established himself as one of contemporary alternative music's most distinctive and outspoken performers. Combining the rebellious spirit of punk rock with the melodic ambition of classic British rock, glam influences and emotionally direct songwriting, his music explores identity, belonging, mental health, relationships and the pressures of modern life. His passionate performances and close connection with his audience have helped him build an international following.

The original Idols album marked an important creative evolution for Yungblud, embracing expansive rock arrangements, theatrical songwriting and influences from the great British rock traditions. Moving beyond the pop-punk and alternative sounds of his earlier recordings, the project demonstrated a growing musical ambition through its combination of powerful guitar performances, atmospheric production and deeply personal themes.

Idols II continues this artistic journey, offering a further exploration of the emotions, musical ideas and storytelling introduced on the original album. Rather than simply revisiting previously released material, the record presents a distinct seven-track collection that complements the first instalment while offering its own listening experience.

The album opens with I Need You (To Make the World Seem Fine), introducing the second chapter of the project with a title that reflects its themes of connection, vulnerability and emotional dependence. The Postman follows, continuing the collection's exploration of personal relationships and the complexities of modern life.

One of the release's major highlights is Zombie, presented here in a special collaboration with The Smashing Pumpkins. The reimagined recording brings together Yungblud's expressive vocal style with the musical identity of one of alternative rock's most influential bands. The collaboration creates a connection between generations of alternative music, reflecting the enduring influence of 1990s guitar rock on contemporary artists.

The first side concludes with Time, while the second opens with War Pt. II, directly continuing the musical narrative established by War on the original Idols album. These recordings reinforce the connection between the two releases and the broader creative vision behind the project.

The collection continues with Blueberry Hill before concluding with Suburban Requiem. Together, the seven songs extend the emotional scope of Idols, presenting another chapter in Yungblud's evolving approach to songwriting and alternative rock.

Throughout his career, Yungblud has drawn inspiration from artists across punk, alternative rock, Britpop and classic rock, creating a sound that combines youthful energy with increasingly ambitious musical arrangements. The Idols project represents an important stage in this evolution, allowing him to explore larger musical ideas while maintaining the emotional honesty and individuality that have defined his work.

This official 2026 clear vinyl edition presents all seven tracks of Idols II on a single transparent clear vinyl LP. Released through Capitol Records, the pressing features new cover artwork created for the second instalment of the project. Its distinctive clear vinyl presentation makes it an appealing addition to any Yungblud collection, particularly for listeners who already own the original Idols album.

Featuring six new recordings and the special collaboration with The Smashing Pumpkins, Idols II is a compelling continuation of Yungblud's ambitious musical journey and an essential companion to the original Idols release.
