Ace Frehley was an American guitarist, singer and songwriter best known as the original lead guitarist of KISS and the band's iconic "Spaceman". His distinctive guitar tone, melodic solos and laid-back vocal style became an important part of KISS's classic 1970s sound. Away from the band, Frehley built an extensive solo career spanning hard rock, glam and heavy metal, beginning with his acclaimed 1978 solo album and continuing through Frehley's Comet and decades of subsequent releases.
At Heathen Records, we stock a growing selection of Ace Frehley vinyl records in Australia, including solo material and recordings connected to his years with KISS. Whether you're completing a KISS collection or exploring the Spaceman's work beyond the band, this page features Ace Frehley LPs available on vinyl.
Ace Frehley's solo catalogue stretches from Ace Frehley and the Frehley's Comet era through Anomaly, Space Invader, Spaceman and 10,000 Volts. Tracks such as New York Groove, Rip It Out, Rock Soldiers, Outer Space and 10,000 Volts showcase the crunchy riffs, memorable leads and straightforward hard rock songwriting that defined his music outside KISS.
Essential Ace Frehley Albums on Vinyl
Ace Frehley (1978) – Released simultaneously with solo albums from the other three members of KISS, Frehley's first solo record became a defining release in his catalogue. Featuring Rip It Out, Snow Blind and his hit cover of New York Groove, the album places his guitar playing and vocals firmly at the centre.
Frehley's Comet (1987) – Frehley's return to recording after leaving KISS introduced the Frehley's Comet band and a polished 1980s hard rock sound. Featuring Rock Soldiers, Into the Night and Calling to You, the album began a new chapter in his post-KISS career.
Space Invader (2014) – A guitar-heavy solo album that reconnects with the sci-fi imagery long associated with Frehley's Spaceman persona. Featuring Gimme a Feelin', The Joker and the title track, it brought his classic hard rock approach to a later generation of listeners.
10,000 Volts (2024) – Frehley's tenth full-length solo album delivers another set of riff-driven hard rock built around his unmistakable guitar style. Featuring 10,000 Volts, Walkin' on the Moon, Cherry Medicine and instrumental closer Stratosphere, it stands as the final studio album released during his lifetime.
