The Cardigans are a Swedish band formed in Jönköping in 1992, fronted by singer Nina Persson. They first won fans with a charming mix of indie pop, jazz and lounge influences before evolving into a darker, more sophisticated alternative rock sound. Their international breakthrough came with the global hit Lovefool, and they went on to become one of Sweden's most successful exports of the 1990s and 2000s.
