William Crighton – Colonial Drift (Vinyl LP)

Colonial Drift is the fourth studio album from Australian singer-songwriter William Crighton, released in 2026. Building on the ARIA Award-winning Water & Dust, the record pushes further into Crighton's distinctive "Bush Psych" sound, bringing together rock, psychedelia, blues, roots music and Australian storytelling in an exploration of country, history, identity and the relationships that connect people to place.

The album features Further Down The Road, Sex, Death & Choices, Beautiful Country and Warzone, alongside tracks including Horizon, Love Works, Australia and Peaceful Land. Natural soundscapes, spoken voices and the three recurring Drift pieces help tie the 14-track record together.

Colonial Drift was co-written by William and his wife and creative partner Julieanne Crighton, who also contributes vocals throughout the album. Its extensive cast of collaborators includes Rob Hirst and Jim Moginie of Midnight Oil, William Barton, Jeff Lang, Luke Davison, Matt Sherrod and Corey McCormick. The album was recorded at The Grove Studios with Damian Charles, with a significant portion also created in Crighton's home studio.

This Vinyl LP edition is the standard Australian ABC Music pressing on black vinyl, presenting the complete 14-track album.
